Auto Draft

Well, good news for the start of 2013 – the stats for road deaths in 2012 reveal a decline in fatlaities in the 15-24 year old age group! Unfortunately and tragically there were still 65 young people killed on NZ Roads a statistic that is difficult to live with, I just hope that through all our combined efforts we can get this increasingly lower – Spread the word – Light that candle- make the Right Choice! Happy New Year to one and all.

Christmas Tragedy

Sadly we have already experienced the tragic effects of the horrors on New Zealand roads inclduing a terrible fatality on Christmas Day. It seems dreadful that the newspapers continue to record the number of deaths and serious injuries that occur on a regular basis, but I suppose that at least if it’s in our face we might just stop and think! What a great job New Zealand Police do,especially at this time of year, I can only imagine how dreadful it must be to have to go and knock at someone’s front door during the “festive season” to tell parents, brothers, wives, husbands, mothers, fathers that their child is dead.

On a further note, we have already started to receive referrals for the Waitakere and Auckland programmes. The February Waitakere Programme is over subscribed but the Auckland Programme has spaces which unfortunately/fortunately will be filled soon! I would just like to acknowledge the work continued by Courts in working through this time – Thank you.

Auto Draft

The Right Track Programme is beind adapted for “Repeat Impaired Driving Offenders” and is being funded by the Ministry of Health – brilliant news!!

The adapted programme will be delivered twice in Hamilton in 2013/14/15 and is further recognition of the undoubted success of Right Track.

Details of this initiative will be published in the New Year. This meand that in 2013 there will be at least three programmes in Hamilton and is the result of the brilliant partnerships established between Eduk8 Trust, Judges, Hamilton City Council, NZ Fire Brigade, Waikato District Health Board Trauma Team, CYF, NZ Police and of course our superb Patrons – Mayor Julie Hardaker, Judge Glen Marshall, Nick Chsinall and CYF Regional Manager George Ririnui.

Fantastic pre Christmas news!!!

Snowing in Christchurch

Hi there fellow “Trackers” – yes the blog is alive and well thanks to the gentle shove from Liz Fraser! We are now in Christchurch and have delivered Two Sessions so far and today we are stranded in snowy wonderland – can’t wait until we deliver the Risk Management Day – I just hope it’s a little bit warmer!

Just received a brilliant e mail from a police representative who has forwarded a letter from a previous participant in Manukau – I have deleted the name for confidentiality reasons:
