WOW!!!!!! How brilliant the programme was and how outstanding Chase and Wiremu were presenting the real face of Right Track. Obviously, Chris, Maria, Martin and Roz and Monique were the show stealers along with Judge Tremewan, but overall it was a great programme and really highlighted what we do – well done everyone!

Hi there everyone in Right Track land – another report in another paper with another road crash involving speed and alcohol – today’s Herald another example. Here’s a thought – Great Barrier Island – terrible, twisty, turny roads, many unmade, access for four wheel drives only in some places, people driving at about 40kms an hour looking after each other, waving as people pass (not the one or two finger wave) and remarkably few crashes – when was the last time we heard of a fatality on the Barrier???Maybe slower roads, slower speeds, care and respect (and obviously far fewer people on the roads) could be a revolutionary idea??

Exciting news – we have developed a slightly extended Right Track for New Zealand Repeat Impaired Drivers funded by the Ministry of Health and have been given the opportunity to run the programme in Hamilton – awesome! There will be two programmes a year for the next three years and will target those people that may be best described as recidivists – a cohort that poses a real threat on NZ Roads and whose behaviours and attitudes are firmly entrenched in their life styles – this will be a real challenge but one that I am sure we can face up to and conquer. The dates for the programmes are on the “Calendar” section of the website.
