The news isn’t good for the start of the Waitangi weekend with a tragic crash near Lake Karapiro. The serious crash has closed the highway and obviously apart from the tragedy the ripple effect of having a major highway corridor closed on a holiday weekend will be huge.

The tragedy is that in January there were 3o deaths on New Zealand roads and already here is another tragedy with one dead ,two seriously injured
